Dear Taekwon-Do Practitioners:

I am writing to everyone today and asking that you all help however possible in the relief efforts being mounted by the many humanitarian organizations around the world.  It is at times like this that we are reminded of the frailty of mankind and the ease with which life can be extinguished.  It is at times like this that we must dig deep within our hearts and do that which is right.  For those in the area, help however possible, for those who cannot contribute time, a monetary contribution will be appreciated.  There are many relief organizations that are working in the region.  Please choose a reputable one and help them with any financial contributions that you can make.

The martial art of Taekwon-Do teaches us to cherish life and respect the lives of others.  The images coming from South East Asia showing the devastation to the country side is nothing compared to the human suffering that is being felt by all those that have lost loved ones.  The suffering is not limited to South East Asia; it is being felt all over the world, as less and less hope is held out for the tourists and nationals that remain unaccounted for being found alive.  Families all over the world have been affected by this event.  The images of local people wandering about aimlessly not knowing where to begin rebuilding their shattered lives should remind us of just how lucky we are.  The people in the region need our help, they need to know that we care about them and want to help them.  Please do so.

For all those that have lost a loved one, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Taekwon,

Master Choi Jung Hwa
